Those singers belong to the BERBER ethnic group. They are marginalized as we speak same as your minorities.

Originally and actually, the berbers were the owners of north west africa same as the copts in egypt
until they were subdued by the arabs who arrived there in the 7th century.

You find them in algeria and libya. However, they retained their own language and culture intact.

The good news for them, the first country aljeria has publicly announced 2 weeks ago that that the birth/death certificate should include AMAZIG (aka berber) words and which was not the case since millennium and it is a good beginning.

Perhaps moroco
and libya will follow suit.

There is no way the BERBER ethnic and Ethiopia have any thing in-common. I believe the BERBERS, are comfortably copycating the Ethiopians music and introducing it as theirs, the same way the Dirty Tigryan Agames who are copying the Eritrean music and claiming it.
