Re: The Government of Tigray’s Stance on a Peaceful Resolution of the Current Conflict - Tigray External Affairs Office

Sarko, there are indications that over 100,000 Tegaru have died in the past three weeks. The question for you: What was the point of the reckless war if they now accept talks, without preconditions, under the auspices of the OAU? Is Tigrayan life so cheap that a bunch of incompetent leaders can gamble with tens of thousands of lives with impunity? But remember this, the Federal government is not going to accept the TPLF offer. It will demand total surrender because, obviously, junta's capitulation means TPLF is a defeated force. 100,000 Tegaru died in vain.

Obviously, the balance of power requires mediation by intergovernmental bodies such as the AU and other international bodies like US and AU. That is why both parties and AU agreed the process to be "inclusive of mutually agreed international partners".

Fore sure ordinary tplf cadres in particular and Tigryan people in general will win a lot from the proposed peace deal because it saves thousands of youths from more deaths and destruction followed by the inevitable defeat of the tplf, at the end of the day.

This time is not the same like in the long past when lots of Ethiopians and Ethiopian groups including Eritreans and neighboring countries supported the tplf cause and brought the movement on horse back and placed them in Negus Menelik's palace and on the Throne, which the tplf loved more than any thing in the world, but now dying from burning nostalgia for loosing the Grand palace with its Grand Throne and Grand Power, all said to be never coming back.

Right now the few top notch old and rich tplf oligarchs safely placed with their safe money are afraid of peace and change in the direction of stability for fear of loosing what they have right now. For them it seems that the violence must continue even if millions of poor Tigryan youths perish directly or indirectly and for that purpose they need to hypnotize the youth making out of them some sort of Zombie Robots out in the field.
