A good point but it’s unlikely that will happen. First, Gurages are minorities specifically in non-Gurage or neutral regions. Second, Gurages don’t even have one unified language. Don’t get me wrong, any Ethiopian language could qualify to be a working language but the technical & practical aspects make it difficult for such languages to displace or compete with Amharic.

The French & Germans tried vainly to challenge English for a long time. With the advent of virtual technologies, their dream evaporated altogether.
