One of the major drivers of instability in the Horn Africa is the rivalry between the Tigrayans in Ethiopia and Eritrea. This rivalry has been the root cause for the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea during 1998 to 2000 and the current ongoing war in Tigray started in November 2020. More than any body else both Tigrayans have suffered due to their inability to resolve it in a peaceful manner and external forces like Amharas, the Ethiopian government , Egypt and other global powers have been trying to exploit this rivalry to their advantage at huge cost to both Tigrayans . TPLF and EPLF were given a historic opportunity to resolve this issue but failed us due to their selfish political & economic interests since they both tried to play zero sum game . Let us hope God will give us the right leadership in the future so that this problem is resolved in a peaceful manner in the years to come. It is a possibility once again Isaias may reinvade Tigray in a very near future with further heavy price to both Ethiopia and Eritrea. Tigray and the Ethiopian government have to be on top alert !
