So far we don't know at the public level about who might have killed Batte Urgessa.

What we know so far is that the government is taking decisive steps to crush the ragtag militia in the name of Shene, which has been a cause for the maiming and killing of thousands of innocent people in the country.

Now the reports coming from the western world are reminiscent of the recent MoU between Ethiopia and Somaliland republic, which they call "break-away" for convenience. Fact is the country is administering its affairs on its own for over 3 decades already and still counting.

For what ever reason they also rushed at finger-pointing before the rest of us knew anything of the circumstances of the death.

The United States, the European Union and Britain have joined rights campaigners in calling for a full investigation into the killing of Bate, an outspoken politician who had spent several years in and out of detention.

It is possible that they will going to call for UNSC session one more time over this issue.

The killings of Hachalu Hundessa (in the capital), of Commander Solomon Tadessa (near the capital, in Burayyu), and now Batte Urgessa (in or near Maki town) seem to be of very similar signature.
